Announcing the Release of the Multi-Axis Controller ECMG Series

CKD Corporation (Headquarters: Komaki City, Aichi, Japan, President: Katsuhito Okuoka) will release the Multi-Axis Controller ECMG Series on March 1, 2023. This product is a multi-axis controller capable of controlling up to 16 axes of electric actuators with stepping motors.

1．Background to Development
As production facilities become more motorized and demand for electric actuators increases, the challenge was when using a single-axis controller for multiple axes, a large installation space was required. The Multi-Axis Controller ECMG Series can connect 2 axes of actuators per unit, significantly reducing installation space.

Production equipment that uses multiple electric actuators.

3．Product Features
(1) Three types of power supply methods are employed
　a) Collective wiring method
　　Power can be batch supplied from the communication unit to each drive unit, reducing wiring hours.
　　

　b) Mixed wiring method
　　Only drive units with high current consumption are supplied with a separate power supply,
　　and there is no limit on the number of axes based on current value.
　　

　c) Individual wiring method
　　Power is supplied directly to each drive unit, and the number of axes is not limited by current value,
　　ensuring a high level of safety.
　　

(2) Capable of connecting up to 16 axes
Each unit-coupled drive unit can connect 2 axes.
In addition, up to 16 axes of actuators can be connected, reducing the installation space to 40% of that required by conventional models.

(3) Basic performance is significantly improved
The Slider types EJSG and EBS-G Series and the Rod type EBR-G Series with built-in guide have realized up to 5 times higher payload and up to 2 times the maximum speed compared to conventional models.
