Received the “Good Design Award 2023”

CKD Corporation (Headquarters: Komaki City, Aichi, Japan, President: Katsuhito Okuoka) was awarded the “Good Design Award 2023” (sponsored by Japan Institute of Design Promotion) for its “Multi-Fit Valve”, a solenoid valve. The award-winning Multi-Fit Valve is the successor to the Multi-lex Valve, which won the same award in 1984, and the Special Purpose Valve, which won the same award in 1994, making this a consecutive award that transcends time.

1．Good Design Award Overview
The Good Design Award is the successor to the Good Design Product Selection System established in 1957, and is actively evaluating and promoting designs that represent Japan. The “G Mark”, the symbol of the award is widely known as a symbol of excellent design.

2．Award summary
(1) Name: Solenoid Valve Multi-Fit Valve

(2) Product Overview: General-purpose direct-acting solenoid valves are used in production facilities and equipment in more than 100 industries, including compressors, measuring equipment, machine tools, medical equipment, refrigeration equipment, industrial furnaces, and railroads. The optimum combination of fluids is available for ON/OFF control of a wide variety of fluids (compressed air, water, oil, vacuum, etc.) in different operating environments and under different frequency of use.

(3) Design: Safety is achieved by maintaining the same size as before while improving waterproofing and reducing the heat generated by the coils. The new unit has improved usability by adding a grip shape that prevents slipping when rotating to match the installation posture or attaching/detaching for maintenance, and by integrating the performance display on the top surface in consideration of user visibility.
