CKD Corporation (Headquarters: Komaki City, Aichi, Japan, President: Kazunori Kajimoto) is expanding the range of the popular “HP Series” High Durability Components. Four new models will be added to the “Long Service Life Hand” and “Environment-Resistant Cylinder” and will be available on March 31,2021.

1.Background to development
The High Durability HP Series launched in November 2019 has contributed to the improvement of productivity based on the concept “No breakdowns”, “To inform you before breakdowns”, “Immediate replacements when breakdowns occur”. The series has been instrumental in helping you achieve “unstoppable equipment” by reducing breakdowns at manufacturing sites in various industries.
In addition, the HP Series has been highly evaluated in terms of technology and environment-friendliness, winning the “Machine/Robot Parts Award” at the “Ultra” Monodzukuri Parts Awards and the “Golden Award” at the Aichi Environment Awards.
In order to further meet the wide range of applications of our customers, we have added four new models to the HP series, for a total of 26 models to contribute to the improvement of equipment productivity.

2.Major applications
Automotive manufacturing facilities, machine tools that require high frequency and stable operation, and various facilities and equipment that promote automation and IoT
(1) Workpiece handling via attachments at the tip of robots or other devices (LST-HP1)
(2) Determination of workpiece dimensions during handling and predictive maintenance of the hand
(LSTM-HP2)
(3) IoT of manufacturing equipment with analog and digital output forms (LSHM-HP2)
(4) Long-term stable operation of cylinders in dusty environments (LCR-G-HP1)

・Maintains high rigidity and high precision for long periods through built-in high rigidity linear guides
・Reproduction of centering precision when replacing with positioning holes using the grip center as reference

(2) Low-profile Long Stroke Hand with length measurement function “LSTM-HP2”.
・Repeatability ±0.04mm, linearity F.S.±0.5%

(3) Linear Slide Hand with length measuring function “LSHM-HP2”
・ Select from analog output, switch output and digital output
・ Digital output is IO-Link compatible

(4) Environment-Resistant Cylinder “LCR-G-HP1”
・ Cylinders with linear guides that can be used in dusty environments, which is the industry’s first
・ Cylinder part: Rubber scraper + fiber assembly (lube keeping structure)
・ Guide: Scraper + lubrication holding mechanism
