Updated Uniforms and Casual Wear for Offices

CKD Corporation (Headquarters: Komaki City, Aichi prefecture / Representative Director: Katsuhito Okuoka) will introduce completely updated uniforms suited for the times that offer functionality and comfort in order to improve the workplace environment. In addition, we will permit casual wear for offices so that employees can work in casual attire. These measures will be launched in May 2026 and then gradually expanded, including to domestic group companies.

1. Summary
In order to incorporate the opinions of employees who actually wear the uniforms into the completely updated uniforms, a group-wide project team of about 30 members in total was formed, which included workplace representatives from six domestic plants and three group companies. As a result of a year and a half of discussions as well as questionnaires to all employees and verification of samples at actual worksites, we were able to improve safety, functionality, and design.

2. Key points of the uniform
In addition to updating our long-sleeve light-weight jackets for winter and summer, short-sleeve light-weight jackets for summer, all-season pants, we have introduced new polo shirts at the request of employees.

– Highly breathable and quick drying polo shirts that offer greater protection from heat stroke during summer
– Improved ease of movement due to the use of stretch fabric that is also flame-resistant and anti-static
– Use of reflective material that makes workers more visible in dark areas and pocket layout appropriate for items they carry

3. Project member comment
Uniforms are an important item to motivate employees and get them into a work mindset. As the company wanted to “move the project forward while taking into consideration employees’ opinions,” the project was undertaken in a manner that offered a greater sense of participation. I believe that the new CKD uniforms will provide greater safety and comfort every day.

4. Making the process environmentally friendly
We will give full consideration to environmental aspects in various ways, such as upcycling or recycling current uniforms to demonstrate our appreciation for their many years of use.

5. Casual wear at offices
At workplaces where casual wear will be permitted, employees will be able to work in casual clothing every day. We aim to create a workplace environment more conducive to work that makes it easier for every employee to perform well.
