What is RoHS Directive?

RoHS Directive refers to Directive 2011/65/EU on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

Amendment to the RoHS Directive

In Directive (EU) 2015/863 published by the European Commission on June 4, 2015, four phthalates (DEHP, DBP, BBP, DIBP) were added to the list of restricted substances, increasing the total number of restricted substances from six to ten (hereinafter, referred to as the "10 RoHS substances").

[10 RoHS Substances]
Annex II as amended by Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2015/863
Restricted substances referred to in Article 4(1) and maximum concentration values tolerated by weight in homogeneous materials

Restricted Substances Maximum Concentration Values Notes

Compliance with RoHS10 Substance Regulations

The RoHS10 Substance Regulations applies to all electrical and electronic products and components, and the start date of their application varies depending on the categories established by the European Commission. Component products have been switched to RoHS10 substance-compliant products since April 2019.

[Identification of products compliant with RoHS10 Substances]
Products compliant with RoHS 10 substances for electrical/electronic products and non-electrical/electronic products (products that do not use electrical/electronic components) are clearly marked with the "RoHS compliant" mark in the catalog. For electrical and electronic products, the CE Mark is also added.
*Some products do not support RoHS10. For details, please refer to the list of non-compliance with RoHS 10 substances below.
*For custom-made products, please check with our sales staff.

[RoHS10 Certification of Products Compliant with Substance Regulations]
For electrical and electronic products, CE Mark is added and self-declaration is provided. Non-electrical/electronic products (products that do not use electrical/electronic parts) are provided with a certificate of non-use.
If required, please contact our sales office.

[Categories of Electrical and Electronic Products]
Most of our products are classified as “Industrial Monitoring and Control Instruments” of Category 9, and the restrictions went into effect on July 22, 2021. (Some products fall under category 8, Medical Devices and Equipment.) Products with electrical and electronic components: CE Mark is added and certified with a self-declaration.

[If your product falls under any category other than 8 or 9]
This regulation has been in effect since July 22, 2019. Please note that this regulation has been applicable since July 22, 2019, and if you use component products, they are subject to the restrictions of the 10 RoHS substances.
*Products with no electrical or electronic components are also subject to the restriction.
