CKD Corporation (Head Office: Komaki City, Aichi Prefecture; Representative Director, President, Corporate Officer and Chief Executive Officer: Katsuhito Okuoka) is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a constituent of the FTSE Blossom Japan Index and FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index, representative ESG investment indices used by the General Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) of Japan, one of the largest institutional investors in the world.
This marks the first time CKD Corporation has been selected as a constituent of the FTSE Blossom Japan Index, and the fourth consecutive year that CKD Corporation has been selected for inclusion in the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index.
Created by global index provider FTSE Russell, the FTSE Blossom Japan Index is designed to measure the performance of companies that demonstrate strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. The FTSE Blossom Japan Index is widely used to create and evaluate sustainable investment funds and other financial products.
FTSE Russell evaluates companies in the areas of corporate governance, health and safety, anti-corruption, and climate change. The companies selected as constituents of the FTSE Blossom Japan Index meet various ESG-related criteria.
FTSE Russell confirms that CKD Corporation has been independently assessed according to the index criteria, and has satisfied the requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE Blossom Japan Index. Created by the global index and data provider FTSE Russell, the FTSE Blossom Japan Index is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. The FTSE Blossom Japan Index is used by a wide variety of market participants to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products.
The FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index, created by global index provider FTSE Russell, is designed to be a sector-neutral index that reflects the strong ESG performance of Japanese companies relative to each sector. In order to facilitate the shift to a low-carbon economy, the index only includes companies that are recognized for their efforts to improve greenhouse gas emissions, particularly those with high greenhouse gas emissions, based on TPI Management Quality Scores.*
