ATEX Certification

The ATEX (Atmosphères Explosibles) Directive came into force in July 2003 as EU Directive 94/9/EC and is one of the CE marking conformity directives.
Electrical and non-electrical equipment (such as cylinders subjected to friction, impact, and wear) intended for use in explosive atmospheres and manufactured, sold, distributed, or installed within the territory of EC member states are subject to regulation.
The current ATEX Directive number is 2014/34/EU.
