  3. Features of the Compact Arm

The Compact Arm is a

compact air balancer designed to
assist in holding and maneuvering tools.
The low-friction cylinder and high-rigidity guide reduce operator burden,
enhancing both ease of use and workability.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's Occupational Disease Occurrence Status Survey (2021), "lower back pain" accounts for approximately 65% of all occupational disorders.
(Excluding cases caused by Pathogens)
In today's world, where the realization of a comfortable work environment and the elimination of labor shortages are demanded by the active participation of seniors and all genders, the implementation of work style reforms, "reducing the burden of heavy work and ensuring safety" is an important issue.
As a solution, human-assist devices that have evolved to be closer to workers have been adopted in various industries.

Features of the Compact Arm Assistive Device

POINT 01 Usabilty

Flexible, Lightweight Operation

  • Lightweight Operability

CKD's unique low-friction cylinder enables operation with minimal force. The joint's design ensures minimal movement, precisely following the operator's intended motion.

    Lightweight Operability
  • Horizontal Arm and Vertical Guide

The horizontal arm and vertical guide work in tandem for smooth operation, enabling precise tightening at the desired location.

    Horizontal Arm and Vertical Guide
  • Balanced at Any Vertical Position

The absence of elastic components in the drive unit allows for position holding at any point.On-the-fly stopping during operation eliminates unnecessary movement.

POINT 02 Simple

Compact and Easy to Install

  • Compact Design

Offers a wide range of motion during use and folds compactly for storage.

    Compact Design
  • Easy Installation

Can be mounted on an aluminum frame with a mounting width of 60 mm.

    Easy Installation
  • Easy Adjustment Mechanism
    (Pneumatically Controlled)

Pressure can be quickly adjusted to match workpiece weight using the precision regulator knob.

POINT 03 Safety

Safety features ensure safe use for all operators.

  • Safety Structure for Vibration and Reaction Force Suppression

Reduces tool-generated vibration and reaction force compared to suspension-type systems.

Safety Structure for Vibration and Reaction Force Suppression
  • Power Loss Prevention

A check valve prevents sudden drops when air supply is interrupted.

    Power Loss Prevention
  • Arm Drift Suppression

The arm joint features a simple locking function to prevent arm drift (see note below).Note: Arm drift refers to unintended arm movement when released.
