Component-based safety measures

The international standard ISO 13849-1, which specifies the principles and performance required for the machine safety control system, was drastically revised in 2006 and requires evaluation from the category to the performance level (PL). The revision of the standard is a safety-conscious one from the "reliability" and "quality" aspects of parts.

The CKD products are based on the ISO 13849-1. Here, 2 models of Residual pressure exhaust valve with spool position detection SNS Series and 3-port solenoid valve with spool position detection SNP Series are introduced. The safety standard must build the entire control system. When building your system, the two series can be used as standard-specific models when acquiring the standards.

Category Requirements Certification Acquisition Model Compliant models
B To realize an objective function of a machine control system of safety-related parts.
To withstand expected stress (for example: Vibration, EMC, etc.).
- -
1 To meet the requirements of category B.
To use highly reliable components that are well-known and have been well examined.
- -
2 To meet the requirements of category B.
To check safety features at appropriate intervals.
SNS Series SNP Series
3 To meet the requirements of category B.
A single defect must not damage the safety function.
Single defects are to be detected as much as possible.
SNS Series 2 modules SNP Series 2 modules
4 To meet the requirements of category B.
Single defects must be detected during or before the safety function is performed.
When this cannot be carried out, the accumulation of defects must not damage the safety function.

In addition, although not ISO 13849-1 compliant products, a series and options are available that are designed to be safe, including drop prevention and malfunction prevention covers. Do not hesitate to contact us.
